Whose idea was it to use a combinations of MOTS and COTS systems for Collins ?
I assume MOTS means “military off the shelf” – these would have been tested. How much if any testing would a COTS system have and why would anyone be trying to issue it to Collins ?
Because they can and just because it’s an ‘off the shelf’ item doesn’t mean that it’s flawless, you might make the same thing a hundred times but it doesn’t mean than some of them aren’t different, it just means it has been out dated yet
